Verde Antico marble

The second type of marble used in the columns in the main hall is Verde Antico, a darker green than the Cipollino.

The red wall panels behind are Skyros Rosso, in a four-point symmetry kaleidoscope pattern (see gallery two for an explanation of how this effect is achieved). Above this is a thin band of light Carrara, and then blocks of another variety of Skyros marble. These have been placed so that the veins run horizontally.
