In this scene from "Rebecca", St John's Church,
Leytonstone (with its asymmetric turrets) appears in the view
from the window of Manderley. Joan Fontaine is the nameless heroine,
watched over by the sinister Mrs Danvers. Both are shown in detail
below - notice how Fontaine's eyes are made bright and spakling
by using several tile fragments of varied colours. Mrs Danvers'
steely eyes are made from a single tile cut to shape.
