Cool Joe, a jewelry and accessories shop at 3 Greyfriars Place, uses large mosaic letters to grab people's attention. Mosaic tiles can be used effectively to create lettering, but it is usually on a smaller scale. Instead of the letters just being traced out by the tiles, here they contain patterns and movement, adding an extra dimension to the typography. Have a look too at the colours used - what looks at a distance to be a fairly uniform blue is actually made up of a blend of blues, some greens and earthy tones.
