This sumptuous set of tiles uses a theme of interwoven bbraid, or guilloche. There is a large knot made of two interlocking loops. Looking more closely, the loops are made up of four strands woven together. Zooming in further we see that each of these strands contains three more strands. The areas within the main knot and at the corners have a rich floral pattern, with striking red and blue backgrounds. The overall effect is very impressive indeed. |
