You are in: Visits --> Edinburgh --> St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral
In the lower area between the altar rail and the altar are three large tile panels in circular borders of grey and white marbles. The central panel is an ornate eight pointed star. The fossils in the stone steps add to the richness of the ornamentation. There is a nice contrast between the random effect of the fossils and the regularity of the tile patterns. The next page shows the tiles of the upper area, just in front of the altar. |
