St Andrew's church, Buckland Monachorum.
This church boasts a tiled floor and an opus sectile panel
above the altar. The layout of the tiles changes between the
aisle and the choir, while close to the altar, patterned encaustic
tiles by Maw and Company are introduced.
The village is to the south of Tavistock.

Nearby is Buckland Abbey, the former
home of Sir Francis Drake. This star pattern pebble mosaic is
in the garden. The Great Hall of the house has a very striking
15th century red and white tiled floor. |
