This fountain is on the second flight of stairs leading up from the entrance of the Guell Park towards the "Hall of a Hundred Columns" and the plaza. The red and gold bands form the crest of Catalunya (Catalonia) - Gaudì, and his patron, Eusebi Guell, were keen Catalonian nationalists. The next photo shows a close up of the fountain, which is the head of a dog or serpent.
