More pictures from the Royal Arcade, Norwich. This view is from the eastern end. The first floor walls are lined with decorative tiles. These have classic Art Nouveau themes - organic floral shapes and a peacock. The higher areas, for example at the branching half way along the arcade, boast the exotic design shown below. The tiles were by WJ Neatby (who also produced the tiles for Harrod's Food Hall and Bristol's Everard Building) and were manufactured by Doulton. |
