You are in: Visits --> Edinburgh --> Rose Street
Rose Street runs parallel and just north of Edinburgh's famous Princes Street. It is pedestrianised, and at intersections with side streets there are eight large pebble mosaics by Maggy Howarth. As well as foot traffic, they were designed to withstand the weight of delivery vans and service vehicles. The mosaics are around 2 metres (6 feet) across and each one is a different variation on the rose design. The sequence here will take you through them in a west to east direction, with detailed pictures showing the range of pebbles and other materials used.
