Tile and mosaic features in Swanage, Dorset

This effective block of bright modern tiles is the front of Beavers Restaurant in Institute Road (note also the terrazzo and inlaid doorway).

This is one of eight shop doorways in the Round House on the Square. Each has a variation of this fan design and chequered border.

This door step to a private terraced house uses tiles very similar to those of the Heritage Centre floor. I particularly like the way the octagonal shape of the few intact tiles is reflected in the overall shape. back to list (mosaics in the south of England)
