The tiled ferry shelter at Cawsand

Cawsand is just south of Kingsand, and has a match to the tiled bus shelter at Kingsand. Here on the beach is a shelter where passengers for the ferry across the Tamar estuary can wait. It was built in 1999, and the glorious ceramic artwork is by Zoe Coles. There are also contributions from Four Lanes End School.

The designs feature scenes from local life, and also wildlife of the area - a tern, herring gulls and marine creatures. As well as schoals of fish there are crabs, shellfish and an octopus.
